Mae HPC Cymru yn cynnig rhwydwaith gwasgaredig o glystyrau cyfrifiaduron ar draws Cymru gyfan.Mae ei fodel prif gorff ac is-sefydliadau neu fodel ‘hub and spoke’ fel y’i gelwir, yn darparu cadernid, storfa a rennir, ynghyd â defnydd ehangach o raglenni posibl.

Y ni yw darparwr uwchgyfrifiadura cenedlaethol HPC Cymru.  Mae ein rhwydwaith gwasgaredig o systemau a chlystyrau cyfrifiadurol yn darparu cadernid, diogelwch ac adnodd diguro graddadwy, hawdd ei gyrchu ar gyfer busnesau ac ymchwilwyr.

Mae gennym ddwy ganolfan gyfrifiaduron fawr yn Ne Cymru a nifer o safleoedd Haen 1 a Haen 2 mewn prifysgolion a chanolfannau busnes ledled Cymru.  Gwasanaethir yr holl systemau gan rwydwaith penodedig a gyflenwir dros Gydgasglu Band Eang y Sector Cyhoeddus (PSBA), sy’n cynnwys dolen 10 GBit/eiliad rhwng y ddwy Ganolfan ac 1 GBit/eiliad & dolenni 100MBit/eiliad yn cysylltu’r holl safleoedd eraill.

Canolfan Caerdydd

Canolfan Caerdydd yw un o’r ddwy ganolfan sylfaenol gan HPC Cymru, ac fe’i lleolir yng Nghyfrifiadura Ymchwil Uwch yng Nghanolfan Ddata Caerdydd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd.

Safleoedd Haen 1

Mae gan HPC Cymru dri safle Haen 1.  Mae Safleoedd Haen 1 wedi’u cynllunio ar gyfer gwaith bychan i ganolig ei faint, yn ogystal â gwaith cychwynnol ar ddatblygu a phrofi cod cymhleth, graddfa fawr â’r nod o symud i un o’r canolfannau mwy ar ôl gweithredu’n llwyddiannus er dibenion cynhyrchu.  Lleolir y tri chyfleuster Haen 1 ym Mangor, Aberystwyth a Morgannwg.  Mae’r cyfleusterau hyn yn darparu’r canlynol i ddefnyddwyr HPC Cymru:

Safleoedd Haen 2A

Mae gan HPC Cymru ddau safle Haen 2A. Mae lleoliadau Haen 2A wedi’u cynllunio ar gyfer gweithiau bychain eu maint, a ddefnyddir yn ddelfrydol fel prawf o lwyfannau cysyniadau.  Mae’r cyfleusterau hyn yn glystyrau bychain a chanddynt bersonoliaeth ddeuol (Windows/Linux) sy’n caniatáu i ddefnyddwyr  HPC Cymru brofi’u cod a mesur, p’un ai yw’u cod yn addas ar gyfer Cyfrifiadura Perfformiad Uchel wrth weithio ag arbenigwyr ymroddedig HPC Cymru.

Mae’r systemau hyn hefyd yn ddelfrydol ar gyfer cymwysiadau nad ydynt yn dibynnu’n helaeth ar ryng-gysylltiu (rhwydweithio) neu ofyniad I/O uchel.  Lleolir y cyfleusterau Haen 2A ym Mhrifysgol Fetropolitan Abertawe a Phrifysgol Glyndŵr.
